The Piedmont red wine Nebbiolo d’Alba “Cascinotto” by Claudio Alario is a product that embodies all the magic of the terroir of the Piedmont Langhe. It is a bottle in which the Nebbiolo, a varietal that thrives wonderfully in this area, expresses itself with the typical floral notes on the nose, leading to a lively and energetic sip, where absolute balance reigns. A label that can be tasted now, but if left to mature for a few more years will reserve pleasant surprises for you.
The Nebbiolo d’Alba “Cascinotto” is born from the grapes of an important vine for Piedmont viticulture, the Nebbiolo. It is a variety that has always been capable of producing great red wines, which the Claudio Alario winery cultivates using the guyot system, in vineyards that are about 40 years old. The clusters, harvested around mid-October, are destemmed, and the selected berries are pressed. The must obtained ferments in temperature-controlled rotofermenters, and then the aging process begins, during which the wine rests for a period of 20 months in French oak barriques, new at 50% and for the remaining part of secondpassage. At the end of this maturation, the wine is ready to be bottled.
This “Cascinotto” Nebbiolo d’Alba presents itself visually with a beautiful ruby red color. On the nose, floral notes of rose and violet resonate, enriched by a background of spicy aromas and hints of berries. On the palate, it is full-bodied, elegant, and refined, with a sip in perfect taste-olfactory balance. A classic and traditional Piedmont red, with which the Claudio Alario winery, owned by a historic family always committed to wine production in the Langhe, achieves high quality levels, recognized by the main Italian sector guides such as Gambero Rosso, Bibenda, and Veronelli.
