Palazzo Della Torre Allegrini 2023
Palazzo della Torre is a red wine that presents itself with a bouquet of ripe and fleshy fruit and a velvety and harmonious taste, resulting from part of the grapes dried until December. It is aged for 15 months in second-pass French oak barriques. An original expression of Allegrini
The Palazzo Della Torre Allegrini is a red wine that encapsulates in a bottle all the experience of a historic brand from Valpolicella and the winemaking tradition of this important territory in Veneto. It is one of the labels that has made the winery famous in international markets, thanks to a wine that expresses a soft and seductive, intense and mature taste, particularly appreciated abroad. The result is the fruit of very ripe grapes, partly subjected to drying, which provide concentration, structure, harmony, and satisfying fruity sweetness.
The Palazzo Della Torre by Allegrini is the result of a winery that has managed to enhance Valpolicella with a range of high-level labels. It is a balanced blend, featuring the two main grape varieties of the territory, Corvina Veronese and Corvinone, integrated with a minority percentage of Rondinella. The vines have an average age of 40 years and are cultivated in hilly areas, characterized by the presence of a calcareous-clay soil rich in skeleton. The harvest is done by hand in two different phases. First, the grapes intended for drying are collected, and at a later stage, those for normal red winemaking with skin maceration are harvested.to the drying process and later those to be started for normal red winemaking with skin maceration. In January, the vinification of the dried grapes begins, together with the wine already produced, triggering a second fermentation. The resulting wine matures for a period of 15 months in second-pass French oak barriques.
Palazzo Della Torre Allegrini is a classic red from Valpolicella, perfectly in line with what is expected from this territory. Warm and satisfying, mature and smooth, perfect to enjoy with game dishes, grilled red meats, or beef roasts. In appearance, it has a dark ruby color with violet reflections. On the nose, it expresses a particularly rich and broad olfactory palette, with notes of ripe cherry, red plum, cherries in spirits, dark berry jam, hints of vanilla, soft oriental spices, tobacco, and dark chocolate. Structured and enveloping, it has a velvety tannic texture, a fruit that offers a sip of mature sweetness, which unfolds harmoniously and densely towards a persistent, fruity, and spicy finish.
