The “Giorgio Odero” Pinot Noir from the Frecciarossa winery originates from a single vineyard located in Casteggio, facing northwest and northeast and situated at an altitude of 160 meters above sea level. The vines, whose average age is around 25 years, grow with the guyot system in a clayey and calcareous soil, with a pH tending towards basic. The must ferments in steel tanks at controlled temperature, macerating for 15 days. The malolactic fermentation is subsequently completed in small used wooden barrels. The final maturation takes place first for 12 months in wooden barrels of 25 hectoliters and then for another 6 months in steel tanks.
of 25 hectoliters and then for another 6 months in steel tanks. The “Giorgio Odero” Frecciarossa presents itself to the eye with a ruby red color crossed by garnet flashes visible especially at the rim when the glass is tilted. The nose is rich and generous in nuances, from sweet spices to withered flowers, passing through fruity hints; in the finish, a balsamic touch is felt that envelops the nostrils with elegance. On the palate, it is full-bodied, refined, and velvety, endowed with a refined soul that flows over the palate with freshness, highlighting a tannin well integrated into the overall structure. A label that honors the tenacity and enterprise of Giorgio Odero, a family member who, after the war, after having completed various experiences in Burgundy and Champagne, decided to export the first bottles of wine in glass to the United States, which was truly unusual for the time. A wine that testifies to the great foresight that still accompanies the work of the family today.
