The red wine "Poggio ai Ginepri" from Tenuta Argentiera is a Bordeaux blend that originates in the heart of Maremma, partially matured in French and Hungarian oak barrels for 8 months. It has an intense and enveloping personality, emanating notes of underbrush, ripe fruit, and spices, presenting a fresh, elegant, and soft body

“Poggio ai Ginepri” by Tenuta Argentiera is a red wine with a Bordeaux blend that has become a classic in the Bolgheri area. A truly unique place in the region, as the estate is the closest to the sea, but also the one located at the highest altitude for the Bolgheri territory at 200 meters above sea level. Many elements of beauty characterize Tenuta Argentiera, starting from the breathtaking view of the orderly vineyards and the Tyrrhenian Sea. The farmhouse itself retains its historical features, but inside, the winery has been designed in every detail to achieve high quality standards.

The red wine Poggio ai Ginepri by Tenuta Argentiera is made from a classic blend of international grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and, in smaller percentage, Petit Verdot. After manual harvesting, the bunches are destemmed, and the grapes undergo a gentle pressing. Each grape variety is separated, and fermentation with maceration takes place in steel tanks and lasts 15/20 days. The subsequent aging process differs: 50% of the wine is transferred to French oak barriques of 225 liters, where malolactic fermentation also takes place and where it ages for another 8 months. The other 50% continues in steel tanks. Only before bottling is the blend made.

The red “Poggio ai Ginepri” opens with an intense and dense ruby red. Once poured into the glass, the aromas that emerge have various facets of fruit: blackberries, blueberries, cherries, and dehydrated plums. There are also echoes of slightly pungent spices like white pepper and cinnamon, along with hints of sweeter notes, such as vanilla. On the palate, it is soft, with well-managed tannins that extend into a persistent and intense finish, with enviable cleanliness.
