Perfect to drink every dayThe Primitivo Neprica by Tormaresca Antinori is a red wine from Puglia coming from the province of Brindisi, aged in steel for about 8 months to maintain a fragrant and fruity sensory profile. It presents an intense ruby red color, streaked with purple reflections, and releases aromas of Morello cherries, fresh and candied red fruits and notes of licorice, revealing a soft, round sip with evolved tannins, awakened by balanced freshness.
The Apulian red Primitivo “Neprica” Tormaresca - Antinori is a wine where pleasantness and character come together. The entry on the palate is indeed soft, and the flow of the drink is supported by a pleasant freshness, the key to a sensory balance that is also perfectly balanced on the nose. A bottle ready to drink now, but that can still evolve for a couple of years, developing more the hints of licorice and cocoa that are perceived today. Tormaresca confirms itself, with labels like “Neprica”, as a real strong point of the universe that belongs to the Antinori family, visionary in understanding, about 20 years ago, the potential of Puglia in the wine sector.
This “Neprica” Tormaresca - Antinori is a pure Primitivo that comes from a selection of parcels located in the Tenuta Maìme in San Pietro Vernotico, in the province of Brindisi. The grapes are harvested when they are slightly overripe, and after destemming, the berries are sent to the pressing phase. The must ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, macerating for 8-10 days at a temperature not exceeding 26 degrees. Malolactic fermentation occurs by the beginning of the winter season. The final aging phase takes place first for 8 months in steel and then, after bottling, for another 4 months directly in glass.
The Primitivo “Neprica” Tormaresca - Antinori presents itself to the eye with a typically ruby color, characterized by some reflections tending more towards purple. The fruit first insinuates itself on the nose, with fresh and clear memories, while at the end of the olfactory analysis, the wine's profile is tinged with more spicy touches. On the palate, it has a light body, where the texture of the tannins – round and finely integrated into the structure – and the fruity taste are appreciated, perfectly recalling the olfactory traits. A classic and traditional label, which accurately tells the story of one of the most important varietals for Puglia at a more than interesting price.
