Re di Fiori' Braida 2024
The "King of Flowers" by Braida is a white wine from the Monferrato area made from Riesling grapes, vinified only in steel tanks to preserve the organoleptic profile of the starting variety. On the nose, it is characterized by pronounced aromas of citrus and green apple, with mineral undertones. On the palate, it is fresh, intense, and has a long, juicy finish.
“Re di Fiori” Braida is a special label born from the challenge of producing a great Riesling in Monferrato. An ambitious project that inspires the name of the bottle, which indeed derives from the fact that this grape variety is considered “royal”. An outsider within the range of one of the most renowned wineries in Piemonte, recognized for the cultivation and production of local varieties, here it demonstrates great expertise with the great grape of Northern Europe with a fresh and aromatic interpretation, ideal as an aperitif but capable of perfectly accompanying the entire meal.
The grapes, 100% Riesling Renano, used for Braida “Re di Fiori” come from the Serra dei Fiori vineyard, about 450 meters above sea level, in the municipality of Trezzo Tinella. In this particular viticultural area, the soil is rich in sand and limestone, and the temperature swings between day and night are particularly high. These two environmental factors ensure that the ripening of the grapes is particularly slow and late, allowing for a particularly intense aromatic concentration. The harvest is entirely manual, and the winemaking is carried out completely in steel tanks: after alcoholic fermentation, the wine remains for about six months in the same tanks. It is then followed by further aging in the bottle for another six months.

In the glass, it releases intense aromas of citrus, green apple, and white flowers. A wide bouquet of aromas, which translates in the mouth into a juicy and fresh sip with a fine minerality. A long and savory finish leaves the palate with a pleasant sensation of cleanliness and freshness, inviting pairing with dishes based on raw fish, shellfish, and mollusks. To be tried with foie gras and blue cheeses.
