The Taurasi "Naturalis Historia" by Mastroberardino is an Aglianico produced from grapes sourced from a 40-year-old vineyard. Aged for 24 months in barrique and 30 months in bottle, it presents an intense and complex nose with sensations of underbrush, chinotto, licorice, tobacco, and oriental spices; on the palate, it is rich and vigorous with a perfectly integrated tannin in the sip and a long persistence of aromatic herbs

The Campanian red Taurasi “Naturalis Historia” is a wine that comes from the old Aglianico vines cultivated by Mastroberardino within the estate of Mirabella Eclano. It is an important, austere product, with a generous nose and a palate of great fullness. A label that, thanks to these characteristics, is configured with an excellent predisposition to aging, thus ensuring the ability to present itself impeccably even after seven or eight years.

The “Naturalis Historia” by Mastroberardino is a Taurasi that comes from the pure use of a great red grape variety from southern Italy, the Aglianico. The vines, which are around 40 years old, have roots in vineyards located about 400 meters above sea level, characterized by a sandy-loam subsoil. The must macerates for a long time on the skins, fermenting in temperature-controlled steel tanks. It then undergoes aging, which involves a dual passage: first 24 months spent maturing slowly in barriques, and then, after bottling, another 30 months directly in glass, before commercialization.

The Taurasi “Naturalis Historia” presents itself to the eye with an intense and barely penetrable ruby color, characterized by slight reflections tending towards garnet. On the nose, a rich and abundant profile is perceived, where, after the first notes of fruit jam, a mix of spicy sensations is felt, also characterized by a slight more woody profile. On the palate, it has excellent body, muscular, with a sip in which freshness and tannins are well harmonized with each other. It closes with an aftertaste characterized by a flavor reminiscent of aromatic herbs. A great product signed by Mastroberardino, which with this vintage satisfies both national and international critics with truly excellent scores; a must-try, to engage with a great red from southern Italy.
