The Vistamare by Ca' Marcanda is a white wine made from Vermentino and Viognier grapes that evokes a sense of carefree drinking. Intense, with sensations of candied citrus and summer fruit against a marine backdrop. Fresh, round, and substantial on the palate

“Vistamare” is a fresh and harmonious white that originates from the beautiful lands of Bolgheri. This corner of Maremma Toscana, famous for the great reds produced with the renowned Bordeaux grape varieties, has proven to be particularly suited for the cultivation of white grape varieties as well. The Ca’ Marcanda winery is the Tuscan estate of the famous Piedmontese producer Angelo Gaja, father of some of the most appreciated Barbaresco wines in the world. “Vistamare” is born from a blend of Vermentino (60%), traditionally grown along the Tuscan coast, and Viogner (40%), a grape variety originating from the Rhône Valley, which has adapted very well to the Mediterranean climate of Bolgheri. A bottle of great pleasantness and immediate drinkability, which perfectly expresses the marine and sunny notes of the Etruscan coast.

The white “Vistamare” is born in the splendid and sun-drenched vineyards of Bolgheri, cultivated in the strip of land between the coastline and the hilly area that runs parallel to the coast, protecting the crops from the winds coming from the northeast. The temperate climate, always mitigated by the breezes of the Tyrrhenian Sea is perfect for two Mediterranean grape varieties like Vermentino and Viogner.  The two varieties are vinified separately, with fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature for Vermentino and in wood for Viogner. The first rests in steel, while the second matures in French oak barrels. At the end of the six months of aging, the blend is created and bottling takes place. The wine remains in the cellar for a few more months before being put on sale.

The wine “Vistamare” perfectly expresses the balanced and seductive profile, the result of the skillful union of the typically marine notes of Vermentino, with the intense expressive richness of Viogner. Never has a wine name been chosen so appropriately to synthesize its character and personality. On the palate it is fresh, with juicy, ripe, and pleasant fruit. At the table, it pairs wonderfully with seafood menus.
