The Whisky Blended Lighthouse Peated Brave New Spirits comes from a blend of whisky from the Scottish Highlands and Lowlands, aged in ex-Sherry and ex-Bourbon casks. The lighthouse was chosen as the whisky's symbol and name to pay homage to Scotland and its pristine landscapes, whose coastlines are protected by more than 200 lighthouses. Slightly peaty, the nose expresses notes of chocolate, cinnamon and smoke, which go with a full, enveloping sip. A great whisky to experiment with in Mixology!
The Blended Scotch Whisky ‘Lighthouse Peated’ by Brave New Spirits is a whisky that is appreciated for its slightly peaty aroma and flavor, as well as for its excellent quality-price ratio. The so-called “peated whiskies” are produced through the use of peat, an organic fossil fuel of which certain areas of Scotland are very rich. In particular, peat is used during the drying phase of the barley, and with the fumes it releases, it imparts the characteristic smoky and briny scent to the whisky, more or less pronounced depending on the duration of the malt's stay in the peat-fired oven.
Brave New Spirits Blended Scotch Whisky ‘Lighthouse Peated’ is crafted through a blend of whiskies from the Highlands and the Lowlands. The distillates are produced from pure lightly peated barley malt, which is prepared for alcoholic fermentation through the processes of milling and infusion. Once the fermentation process is completed, the mash is distilled in pot stills and the whisky obtained is aged in oak barrels previously used for the maturation of bourbon and Spanish sherry. The distillates are finally blended and bottled under the Brave New Spirits brand.
Upon visual examination, the Blended Scotch Whisky ‘Lighthouse Peated’ expresses a dark amber color. The aromatic spectrum is a succession of fruity and spicy notes reminiscent of yellow-fleshed fruit, cinnamon, and chocolate, accompanied by light and pleasant saline and smoky notes. On the palate, it is consistent in its sweet and fruity perceptions that are accompanied by a warm and enveloping body. The epilogue insists on delicately peaty reminiscences.
