The so-called “peated whiskies” are produced through the use of peat, an organic fossil fuel of which certain areas of Scotland are very rich. Brave New Spirits Blended Scotch Whisky ‘Lighthouse Peated’ is crafted through a blend of whiskies from the Highlands and the Lowlands. The distillates are produced from pure lightly peated barley malt, which is prepared for alcoholic fermentation through the processes of milling and infusion. Once the fermentation process is completed, the mash is distilled in pot stills and the whisky obtained is aged in oak barrels previously used for the maturation of bourbon and Spanish sherry. The distillates are finally blended and bottled under the Brave New Spirits brand.

The aromatic spectrum is a succession of fruity and spicy notes reminiscent of yellow-fleshed fruit, cinnamon, and chocolate, accompanied by light and pleasant saline and smoky notes.
