Cantina Librandi is one of the most important and flourishing regional wineries and represents an absolute reference point for wine lovers in Calabria. It was established as a centre for the production of bulk wines only in 1950, thanks to the brothers Antonio and Nicodemo, but the Librandi family has been dedicated to wine-growing for several generations. A history that has transformed a small winery, linked to family traditions, into one of the most important Italian wine brands. The winery is nestled in a gentle hill in the typical Cirò area, Cirò Marina, and has a surface area of 6500 square metres, where the grapes from the vineyards located in the municipalities of Rocca di Neto, Strongoli, Crucoli and Casabona converge. The Mediterranean climate of these areas, softened by the warm sea winds and protected by the Sila mountains, brings the grapes to a perfect maturation. Thanks to the production of wines of the highest quality, the Librandi winery has contributed significantly to the spread of Calabrian wine throughout the world.

The choice of grapes is mainly based on local varieties, such as Gaglioppo or "black prince", a grape that has been cultivated in the area for hundreds of years. The principle that has guided the company for 100 years can be summarised in a few simple words: love and dedication to the land and its roots. The Librandi estates extend over 200 hectares and are divided into 6 different macro-areas. The area that bears the name Ponte Duca Sanfelice was one of the first plots of land planted with vines where Gaglioppo grapes are still grown according to the alberello method. Very interesting is the plot of Rosaneti, considered as an open-air experimental vineyard, where different clones of forgotten grapes flourish and are recovered thanks to the meticulous work of Attilio Scienza. The last four areas are: Critone, Pitaffo, Brisi and San Biase.

The various Cirò, Asylia, Gravello, and Critone testify to the validity of Librandi's philosophy: maximum attention to the vines, constant improvement in quality, but above all continuous experimentation, in search of increasingly sought-after products that are able to amaze, and promotion of the territory, its ancient vines and its traditions.
