The Roberto Voerzio winery was created in 1986 and is located in the locality of Cerretto, in the commune of La Morra, in one of the most famous and valuable areas of the Barolo appellation, which has always been known for the elegance and extraordinary finesse of its wines. The original nucleus of the property could count on only two hectares, which over time has expanded thanks to a series of subsequent acquisitions. As a great connoisseur of the terroir of the Langhe, Voerzio acquired parcels of high quality in famous crus. Today the estate has an important fleet of vineyards, located in the communal territories of La Morra and Barolo and in particular in Brunate, Fossati, Case Nere, La Serra, Sarmassa, Cerequio and Rocche dell'Annunziata.

Special attention is paid to the management of the vineyard, the true center of all the winery's activity. For thirty years the estate vineyards have been managed with the utmost care and full respect for nature, with the sole objective of producing healthy, ripe and aromatically rich grapes. No chemical herbicides are used and fertilization, when necessary, is done only with manure or humus. Treatments are kept to a minimum so as to limit the impact of viticulture on the ecosystem and environmental biodiversity. The La Morra area, the heart of the estate, is distinguished by a particular soil composition. The marls in this area of the Barolo appellation are, in fact, richer in sand, mixed with limestone and clay. A peculiarity that gives Nebbiolo a more subtle and refined face, with more delicate tannins and a less powerful structure.

Thanks to careful work in the vineyard, high quality grapes are brought to the winery. The only concern is to try to preserve the varietal characteristics with gentle vinifications that involve minimal oenological intervention. No additives or substances are used that would change the character and natural balance of the musts or wine. Fermentations take place spontaneously, using only indigenous yeasts. Depending on the type, aging takes place in cement or wooden tanks. The wine is bottled without filtration so as to preserve its expressive integrity and with a very low addition of soltites. The result is a range of wines with a classic and traditional character, perfectly expressing the nuances of a great terroir.
