The Amaro della Compagnia Florio is a Sicilian liqueur made by one of the oldest and most historically rich wineries on the island. It is a great classic, inspired by the best Sicilian tradition and produced with a careful selection of 13 spices, roots, and herbs, which together create a particularly harmonious, elegant, and intense blend. Its typically Mediterranean profile seduces with fragrant aromas of citrus peels, scents of medicinal herbs, a warm and very persistent sip.
The Amaro Florio is a label that originates in the house of the most famous Marsala brand, the Sicilian fortified wine that has enjoyed centuries of splendor and is now finally being rediscovered. The Cantina Florio was founded in the early 1800s and still today has maintained the quality of the products that have made it famous worldwide. Alongside the production of Marsala and fine spirits, an amaro, always a welcome table companion, could not be missing from the winery's range. The result of an ancient secret recipe, passed down within the company as a precious treasure, represents one of the historical legacies of the Florio house and best interprets the character of the land of Sicily, its characteristic scents, and its Mediterranean aromas.
The Amaro della Compagnia Florio is still made today with the same artisanal care as in the past, strictly following the oldest instructions and using an infusion of carefully selected botanicals to achieve a harmonious and balanced result. At the end of the preparation process, it matures for 18 months in wooden barrels before being bottled. In the glass, it appears slightly amber in color, with bright reflections. The aromas are rich and intense, with soft notes of spices, dried fruit, mandarin peel, rhubarb, Mediterranean scrub, medicinal herbs, and balsamic nuances. The sip is warm, broad, and round, with a long and persistent finish that closes on pleasantly bitter notes. It is a sunny amaro, ideal for tasting after dinner among friends, neat or with ice.
