Amaro 'Elixir Balsamico' Barba-Turico
Elixir Barba-Turico is a fresh, balsamic Amaro inspired by 19th century remedies that promised to cure all ills. Respecting the precepts of the Kabbalah, the recipe for this elixir of long life was taken from ancient liquor-making manuals which have been painstakingly recovered. For its creation, 26 types of botanicals from the Alpine arc, known for their curative properties, were used.
Barba-Turico Amaro ‘Elixir Balsamico’ is an Italian liqueur endowed with intense and fresh balsamic perceptions capable of evoking the scents of the alpine mountains. The Barba-Turico liqueur project is part of the “Pellegrini Private Stock” line of the Pellegrini group, a reference partner for catering and food supplies, among other sectors, also involved in the distribution of national and international wines, spirits, and liqueurs. The group entrusted Davide Monorchio, head of the Liquors and Distillates department, with the task of creating an alpine-flavored elixir inspired by those 19th-century remedies that promised to cure all ailments.
The ‘Elixir Balsamico’ Amaro Barba-Turico is produced from a careful selection of 26 herbs, spices, and roots collected in the Italian alpine arc. Among these are yarrow, a plant with a pronounced aromaticity that was historically used to treat anxiety and insomnia, peppermint, rich in balsamic aromas and digestive properties, and chamomile, still appreciated today for its mild calming properties. These and the other botanicals undergo a slow cold maceration aimed at extracting their deepest essence.
The Italian liqueur ‘Elixir Balsamico’ Amaro Barba-Turico shows a straw-yellow hue tending towards golden. The intense aromatic range offers pronounced balsamic notes, combined with floral scents and herbaceous hints that recall the Alps. Delicate and balanced, the taste is endowed with excellent freshness and harmony, attributes that make this amaro ideal at the end of a meal, neat or served with a few ice cubes.
