Barco Reale di Carmignano Capezzana 2021
Organic and biodynamic
Perfect to drink every dayThe Barco Reale di Carmignano is a fruity, fresh and easy drinking red wine, vinified in steel tanks and aged for 10 months in big French oak barrels. The name evokes an ancient Medici’s estate and it is like a younger and lighter version of Carmignano. It has scents of small fruits an red flowers and the taste is balanced, smooth and persistent.
The Barco Reale di Carmignano is a Tuscan red wine that combines local grapes, Sangiovese and Canaiolo, with international varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, as is usually done in this region. It is a balanced bottle, which is the fruit of the centuries-old experience of the Capezzana winery in producing excellent reds. A label to drink immediately or to keep in the cellar for a few more years, to taste it in a more evolved version: in both cases, the satisfaction on the palate will be great.
This Capezzana Barco Reale di Carmignano originates from a skillful blend, which the Capezzana winery assembles starting from a great classic of the Tuscan terroir, Sangiovese, to which small percentages of Cabernet Sauvignon, Canaiolo, and Cabernet Franc are added. The grapes of these varieties grow in vineyards with different exposures, characterized by a clayey hilly subsoil and managed with organic farming practices. The grapes, once harvested, ferment alcoholically and macerate for 14 days in steel tanks, carrying out also malolactic fermentation. We then move on to the important aging phase, in which the wine rests for 10 months in large Allier oak barrels with a capacity of 25 hl.
The red Barco Reale di Carmignano presents itself to the eye with a typically ruby color, endowed with good intensity. The range of sensations that infiltrate the nose tells of aromas that are initially fruity, which then shift towards more floral notes and wild herbs. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, harmonious, with a sip of pleasant freshness, characterized by a clean and smooth tannin; it finishes with an excellent persistent closure, with a fruity aftertaste. A bottle with which the Capezzana winery, a historic reality that can boast ancient roots within the Prato terroir, achieves excellent scores at the national and international level, confirming its excellent production capabilities.
