The Barolo Riserva "Granbussia" by Poderi Aldo Conterno is one of the great excellences of Monforte d'Alba, born from a selection of old vines from the prestigious cru Bussia. A label that is released from the winery only after nine years from the harvest, offering an extraordinary tasting experience. The bouquet is elegant, complex, rich, and refined. On the palate, it has remarkable structure, multifaceted aromatic depth, and great persistence. A Barolo to be enjoyed on special occasions and by true connoisseurs of the great wines of the Langhe.
The wine "Granbussia" by Poderi Aldo Conterno is a Barolo Riserva that represents the flagship of the estate. The splendid vineyard heritage of Monforte d'Alba is managed without the use of chemical fertilizers or herbicides, and the Conterno winery has always worked in the tradition, proposing uncompromising wines, pure expression of the history of the territory. The Nebbiolo grapes of the Michet and Lampia varieties come from Vigna Romirasco (70%), Vigna Cicala (15%), Vigna Colonnello (15%), located in the territory of the famous Menzione Geografica Aggiuntiva Bussia. After a selection of the grapes in the vineyard, the best bunches are sent for vinification with skin fermentation lasting about a month, at temperatures below 32 °C and using only indigenous yeasts. The wine matures in large 35-hectoliter oak barrels for 33 months and completes the long aging period with 5 years in the bottle before being released for sale.
The Barolo “Granbussia” Riserva is the traditional wine of Poderi Aldo Conterno. In addition to the labels dedicated to the individual vineyards, which tend to highlight the differences of the various parcels vinified separately, with the “Granbussia” the aim is to offer a terroir wine that accounts for the best characteristics of the various vineyards of the Bussia cru in their harmonious and comprehensive union. The color is intense ruby red with garnet reflections. The olfactory profile is of great finesse, with aromas of dried flowers, small dark berries, hints of undergrowth, leather, cocoa, and spices. On the palate, it has good body, with a dense tannic texture andperfectly integrated and fused with elegant fruit, enriched by subtle tertiary notes. The finish is fresh and of great persistence.
