The Beaujolais Village 'Marylou' by winemaker Guy Breton is a wine made exclusively from Gamay grapes named after his daughter. It is vinified using indigenous yeasts and aged for a few months in used wooden barrels. A lively and vibrant red that expresses joy, with fresh fruity notes of strawberry and cherry. 

The Beaujolais Village ‘Marylou’ is a juicy and lively Gamay made by the Burgundian vigneron Guy Breton. This producer was one of the first to drive the wine movement of Beaujolais with the production of articulated and deep wines, far from the simple style of those new wines (Beaujolais Nouveau) with which the area has been univocally identified for too long. Inspired by Marcel Lapierre, a historic artisanal producer of Beaujolais, Guy Breton has always refused the use of synthetic chemical products and selected yeasts. This label is a dedication to Guy's eldest daughter.

Guy Breton Beaujolais ‘Marylou’ Village comes from only Gamay grapes from 45-year-old vines planted in granitic soils rich in skeleton. In the field, the principles of organic farming are followed, while in the cellar the alcoholic fermentation is conducted exclusively by indigenous yeasts and is accompanied by carbonic maceration, as per the tradition of the area. The subsequent aging period takes place for a few months in small Burgundian oak barrels of multiple passages. The final bottling occurs without any filtration.

In the glass, Guy Breton’s ‘Marylou’ Beaujolais Village reveals a beautiful bright ruby red color. The nose is inviting with fruity notes of strawberry and cherry associated with mineral hints. Soft, dynamic, and vibrant on the palate, with lively freshness and fine tannic structure. A Beaujolais with a light body and extraordinary smoothness, yet not lacking in expressive depth. The recommendation is to enjoy the ‘Marylou’ at a slightly cooler temperature than usual, perhaps paired with delicious dishes based on white meats.
