The IGA “BB10” beer from the Sardinian craft brewery Barley is an innovative and original label, made in perfect Italian Grape Ale style. This type is born from the meeting of the brewing world and the oldest tradition of wine production, which involves the use of grapes, must, or wine in the beer-making process. The Barley Brewery manages to create a label with a territorial profile, which includes the addition of Cannonau must, the most typical and traditional red of Sardinia. The result is a bottle of great character, with rich and complex aromas, a satisfying fruitiness, and a dense sip, characterized by slightly wine-like notes.
The “BB10” IGA beer is produced in a small brewery located in Maracalagonis, in the hinterland of Cagliari. Barley was founded in 2006 and quickly established itself for its unique personality, also thanks to the experience of the charismatic master brewer Nicola Perra. The brewery's philosophy is inspired by the contamination between different experiences, between malt, hops, and grape berries. The production of Italian Grape Ale labels is based on the use of only indigenous grapes of Sardinia, which give the beer a unique face and deeply connect it to the agricultural tradition of the territory. The Cannonau, the symbolic wine of Sardinia, thus becomes one of the main ingredients of the beer, providing the distinctive, unique, and absolutely inimitable trait.
The IGA “BB10”, produced by the Barley brewery, is a Sardinian craft beer, made with roasted malt from Germany, European hops, and the addition of Cannonau grape sapa. It is produced using a high fermentation process and is bottled without pasteurization. In the glass, it presents a dark amber color with ruby reflections and a beige foam cap of good persistence. It impresses with very rich aromas that recall dried fruit, licorice root, red berry fruit, soft spices, bitter cocoa, and dense nuances of fresh must. The sip is broad, warm, and complex, with a long and very persistent finish.
