Rare winesChampagne Brut Blanc de Noirs of great character, aged 60 months on its lees. Elegant, deep, with intense notes of bread crust and pastry, with a pleasantly savory finale
The Extra Brut Grand Cru Blanc de Noirs “Cuvée Goulté” by Marie Ledru is a vintage Champagne of great personality, produced only with pure Pinot Noir grapes. It comes from one of the most noble and famous Grand Crus of the region: the small village of Ambonnay, which has always provided grapes of absolute excellence. The long aging on the lees gives the bouquet fascinating evolving notes and an extraordinary complexity and taste depth. It is a characterful, mature, and structured blanc de noirs, dedicated to those who are in search of great artisanal Champagnes and enjoy tasting a good bottle throughout a meal, with an important menu.
The Extra Brut Grand Cru Blanc de Noirs “Cuvée Goulté” is produced by a small artisanal Maison, which owns 6 hectares of vineyard in the prestigious Grand Cru of Ambonnay, cultivated with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Marie Ledru is considered one of the most interesting independent voices of Champagne. She has gained the attention of enthusiasts thanks to the ability to create wines that are an authentic expression of the terroir. She personally manages the vineyards, without the use of herbicides and chemical products, with the intent of maintaining a balanced relationship with nature. Her Champagnes are characterized by a direct and expressive style, which brings the excellence of the raw material to the forefront. At the end of fermentation in steel tanks, the vins clairs rest for a few months before the final blending. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle, according to the Champenoise method, with a sur lattes aging of at least 60 months before dégorgement.
The “Cuvée Goulté” is a vintage Extra Brut Grand Cru Blanc de Noirs Champagne that beautifully combines elegance and complexity. Marie Ledru, also known by the nickname “the lady of Pinot Noir,” manages to transfer into the glass her savoir faire and the characteristics of a terroir of absolute excellence. The color is light yellow, rather intense, crossed by a very fine and persistent perlage. The bouquet expresses hints of pastry, nuances of bread crust, fruity notes, and mineral hints of flint. The sip is deep and long, with remarkable complexity and taste richness. The finish closes on fresh and austere notes, accompanied by a pleasant savory sensation.
