The Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne "Echappée" by Etienne Calsac is produced by a family Maison, which makes Champagne with great care and ancient artisanal savoir faire, a guarantee of high quality for its labels. It is a pure Chardonnay that comes from a selection of the best grapes from vineyards cultivated in parcels classified as Premier Cru in the Côtedes Blancs. Thus, a Champagne of great expressive finesse is born, which expresses the best qualities of Chardonnay with a floral and fruity bouquet, a taut, fresh, vibrant, and mineral sip, reminiscent of the best expressions of the territory.
The Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs "Echappée" is a Champagne produced by the small Maison Etienne Calsac. The domaine extends over approximately 3 hectares, divided into various parcels, cultivated in the territories of the municipalities of Avize and Grauves, in the Cote des Blancs and Bisseuil in the Vallée de la Marne. The Chardonnay vines are about 30 years old and take root in calcareous and clayey-calcareous soils of great value, characterized by the presence of gypsum layers. The philosophy of the Maison is inspired by the utmost respect for nature, with grassing of the rows and minimal treatment reduction. Thanks to a respectful and attentive vineyard management and a cellar work based on parcel vinifications, Etienne Calsac manages to bring the authentic taste of the terroir into the glass.
The "Echappée" Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne produced by the Maison Etienne Calsac is the result of careful vinification of the best bunches of Chardonnay grapes, which come from vineyards in the territory of Grauves, with an average age of about 30 years. The clayey-calcareous soils, the east and northeast exposures, and a high planting density allow for the production of rich and excellent quality grapes. At the end of the soft pressing of the whole bunches, separate fermentation takes place for each parcel. The blend is created from base wines of the vintage, and the second fermentation occurs in the bottle according to the Champenoise Method, with a period on the lees of about 2 years. In the glass, it presents a light yellow color with brilliant reflections, enlivened by a delicate or continuous perlage. On the nose, it expresses a bouquet characterized by fruity aromas, hints of bread crust, sweet spices, soft pastry memories, and floral nuances. The sip is elegant, creamy, and has a fresh and salty finish. A beautiful interpretation of the Côtedes Blancs.
