The Cuvée Brut Champagne made by the Piper Heidsieck house presents itself as a true puzzle of terroir. It is indeed a blend where Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay come from more than 100 different parcels, summarizing in a single sip the beauty and versatility of the Champagne region. A traditional and graceful label, which presents in the nose and mouth what one expects from this French sparkling wine.
The Cuvée Brut Champagne by Piper Heidsieck is born from the most classic blend found in this region, composed of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay. The vines of these three varieties are cultivated within more than a hundred different crus, which therefore represent about a third of the total vineyards in the Champagne region. The grapes, carefully selected during the harvest, ferment alcoholically in steel, undergoing malolactic fermentation; at this point, a percentage of 15-20% of reserve wines is added, and the secondary fermentation occurs, as with all products made using the Champenoise Method, in the bottle. Here the wine remains to age on the lees for 24 months, at the end of which the disgorging and bottling operations are carried out.
This Champagne Cuvée Brut signed by the Piper Heidsieck winery reveals itself to the eye with a straw yellow color. The perlage highlights a fine grain, with good persistence. The bouquet of aromas that envelop the nose tells a combination of layered notes, shifting from fresh fruit to sensations of aromatic herbs and yeasts. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, harmonious, with a smooth sip, characterized by a savory touch. A sparkling wine with which the house confirms its good quality levels, as also supported by the scores assigned to it by some of the most important international industry guides.
