The “Royale Réserve” is a Champagne Brut Rosé with an intense, fresh, and elegant profile, showcasing the style of the Philipponnat house. A sparkling wine that ages for a full three years, despite a regulation that allows it to be released on the market after 15 months, thus having the right time to evolve, offering a sip of good body and a range of aromas where red fruit takes on exquisite contours. A Champagne dedicated to the most sophisticated palates.
The Rosé Brut “Royale Réserve” is a Champagne that comes to life from the classic blend used to create French bubbles: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and a touch of Pinot Meunier. The grapes of these varieties grow within Grand and Premier Cru scattered throughout the territory of Mareuil-sur-Ay. Once harvested and taken to the Philipponnat vinification facilities, the grapes ferment partly in steel and partly in barrel, where they also undergo malolactic fermentation. A small percentage of the total mass incorporates a few reserved wines aged in wood using the solera method and Pinot Noir, to achieve a rosé with a delicate color.reserve wines aged in wood using the solera method and Pinot Noir, to obtain a rosé with a delicate color. The second fermentation is carried out, according to the production principles of the Méthode Champenoise, in the bottle, where the Champagne remains to mature for 36 months in contact with its own yeasts.
This “Royale Réserve” is a Champagne Rosé Brut that, upon visual examination, presents itself with a color reminiscent of salmon, with reflections tending towards copper; the perlage is fine and has good persistence. The aromas that envelop the nose are fine and elegant, mainly focused on notes of small red fruits. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with a sip characterized by a pleasant freshness and a fruity taste. A bottle of good complexity, very versatile from a gastronomic point of view: Philipponnat recommends it both as an aperitif and throughout the meal, paired with smoked fish and white meats cooked with light preparations.
