Luca Leggero's Dolcetto 'Retrò' is born at altitude, 700 meters above sea level! An Alta Langa cultivated by many winemakers, in small plots, heroic workers to whom this winery pays homage with this red. Thanks to the sole maturation in steel, it expresses with intensity hints of red fruits, with notes of cherry and blackberries of great freshness. With a full yet balanced character, on the palate it convinces with freshness, structure, and gastronomic suitability: to be tried with agnolotti or rabbit alla canavesana

Piedmontese producer Luca Leggero presents Langhe Dolcetto 'Retrò', a red wine from Canavese that stands out for its typical juicy, almondy flavour. Originating in lower Piedmont, in particular in the Dogliani area, although some hypotheses lead back to a Ligurian origin, Dolcetto is a black grape variety that has always been appreciated for its versatility and ready drinking. The characteristic name of this grape is a probable reference to the richness in sugars of the ripe berries, especially in relation to the low acidity when compared to other Piedmontese varieties such as Barbera or Nebbiolo. Among the factors that distinguish Luca Leggero's Dolcetto, the high altitude at which the grapes grow plays a primary role, contributing to the wine's aromatic intensity and freshness.

Langhe Dolcetto Luca Leggero 'Retrò' derives from pure Dolcetto grapes cultivated in a certified organic way in the Alta Langa area, in a mountainous territory at analtitude of 700 metres above sea level. In the winery, vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks with spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in contact with the skins, followed by a 7-month maturation period also in steel. The final marketing takes place after a further brief rest in the bottle.

Luca Leggero's 'Retrò' Langhe Dolcetto is ruby red in colour with violet reflections. On the nose, sensations of cherry and blackberry are accompanied by pleasant vinous notes. The progression on the palate shows good body, juicy freshness and velvety tannins, elements that combine in a full and tasty development, characterised by a pleasant almond finish. This Dolcetto is best served with cheese boards and mature cold cuts, as well as with legume soups or meat-based first courses.
