The box ‘Metamorfosi e Contrasti’ – Sorsi e Parole d’Autore was created to explore the dualism and human complexity in both literary and wine contexts. To this end, Callmewine offers the famous gothic tale ‘The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’ by Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson, paired with a bottle of Zibibbo Secco ‘Orange’ from the Sicilian winery Abbazia San Giorgio. ‘The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’, first published in 1886, tells the story of a London lawyer, Gabriel John Utterson, who investigates the peculiar events involving his friend Dr. Jekyll and the wicked Mr. Hyde. Regarding the winery Abbazia San Giorgio, it is located on the beautiful island of Pantelleria, where in 2016 friends Battista Belvisi and Beppe Fontana started the winemaking activity adopting a craft production philosophy. Just like the tale ‘The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’, which deals with the ambivalence of human beings, the Zibibbo Secco ‘Orange’ from Abbazia San Giorgio highlights the ambivalence of wine, with the category of whites that are in some way halfway between white and red wines.
The box Sorsi e Parole d’Autore – ‘Metamorfosi e Contrasti’ includes: the Bompiani edition of the tale ‘The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’ by Robert Louis Stevenson, a bottle of Zibibbo Secco ‘Orange’ Abbazia San Giorgio, a black corkscrew signed by Callmewine, a bookmark with a quote from the book, an explanatory card that tells the content of the box, and an elegantly designed wooden box. The Zibibbo Secco ‘Orange’ is made from only Zibibbo grapes from old vines grown in the mediterranean and volcanic context of the island of Pantelleria. The skin maceration of 15-20 days contributes to the strong and flavorful character of this wine, which also has a strong saline component.
