Franciacorta Extra Brut by Camossi is a sparkling wine characterized by freshness and elegant feature. The sense of smell is marked by hints of citrus, white fruit and yeast the taste is direct and delicate, characterized by a clear light and thin bubble
The Extra Brut by Camossi has carved out a leading role in the world of Franciacorta, thanks to a style that combines tension and complexity. 30 hectares of vineyards for a family reality led by Dario and Claudio Camossi, interpreters of a concrete and simple work both in the vineyard and in the cellar, so that the liquids produced are pure expressions of terroir and grape. The agriculture adopted, increasingly directed towards organic practices, provides vitality to the soils and consequently to the grapes produced here, mainly Chardonnay and Pinot Nero, while in the cellar the intent is to favor long aging even after disgorgement. Here in Erbusco, a true enclave of Franciacorta, the Camossi family has distinguished itself for over twenty years for the quality of its classic methods, becoming an absolute reference point for the type.
The Camossi Extra Brut sparkling wine comes from a blend of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Nero. The vineyards, aged between 15 and 25 years, are located in the Erbusco area and rest on clay-silty soils. In the vineyard, work is done with a very reduced use of chemicals and synthetic substances, for an agriculture that looks with a convinced eye towards sustainability. After a careful selection of the grapes that takes place both in the vineyard and in the cellar, the bunches are gently pressed before starting the separate vinification of the base wines that will make up the cuvée. After the blending of the two base wines, and the second fermentation in the bottle, the liquid ages for about 24 months on the lees, followed by an additional 3 months resting in glass.
The Extra Brut wine by Camossi presents itself in the glass with a straw-yellow-golden color and very fine bubbles. On the nose, while painting a picture of great composure and measure, it does not skimp on mineral bursts and an abundance of white flowers. Cohesive profile and great cleanliness, where the crispness of the fruit immediately invites tasting, which does not disappoint expectations: tension and austerity contrast with a more generous and yielding part, where notes of toasted bread and refined hints due to aging on the lees intertwine.A sparkling wine of extreme versatility, it is perfect for an aperitif but also for the whole meal due to its ability to enhance food without overpowering it. Excellent quality-price ratio!
