Gaia Pella Amphora from the Ktima Ligas winery is a bold macerated white wine with a wild soul, perfect for enjoying during a dinner with friends and savouring a bit of Greece. It is made from Kydonitsa grapes which, after a soft pressing, macerate for one month in amphora on their skins, and then undergo a 12-month refinement in wood. The colour is golden yellow tending towards orange, while the bouquet is reminiscent of dried fruit and herbaceous notes. The taste is complex, full and unforgettable.

Gaia Pella Amphora by Ktima Ligas is an orange wine that testifies to Greece's interest in artisanal wines, increasingly in the spotlight around the globe. A pure and original expression, capable of bringing to the glass a territory, that of Greek Macedonia, and a philosophy, that of so-called natural wines, with the passion and enthusiasm of those who have made viticulture a way of life. “More than organic” some back labels quote, demonstrating the attention this winery shows towards sustainable agriculture that gives back what it takes away, in a cyclical and perpetual balance.

The macerated Gaia Pella Amphora is an interpretation of the white grape variety Kydonitsa, a rare native variety of Greece whose name means “little quince”, a descriptor that characterizes the aromas and taste of the finished wine. After harvesting and gentle pressing, the must ferments in amphora with an extended maceration on the skins that lasts for a month, in order to extract the aromatic and phenolic compounds.noble. Once vinified, the mass rests for about a year in old wooden barrels before bottling.

The Ktima Ligas Gaia Pella Amphora showcases a golden yellow hue with orange reflections. The olfactory spectrum is deep and complex, with seductive notes of dehydrated fruit alternating with herbaceous and balsamic sensations. The intensity and breadth are confirmed on the palate, where the juicy freshness combines with marked sapidity, in an extremely long mineral finish. A manifestation of strength that certainly does not shy away from comparison at the table, and indeed requires structured dishes that can support its richness of flavors.
