The Gevrey Chambertin by winemaker Jean Fournier is a Pinot Noir with refined and elegant expressions that stands out for its aristocratic finesse. The wine is produced following artisanal methods, using only indigenous yeasts. A nose rich in aromas of red-fleshed fruit and smoky notes announces an enveloping and persistent palate.

The Gevrey Chambertin by Jean Fournier is born in Burgundy, precisely in Marsannay-La-Côte. Jean is a son of art: his family boasts experiences as vignerons since the Seventeenth century. Jean learns the art of winemaking from his father Henri, who has been dedicated to producing wine of impeccable quality since the Sixties; subsequently, he feels the need to return to a less interventionist agriculture, less characterized by the use of chemical substances and aimed at recovering old grape varieties. Since 2001, Jean's son, Laurent, has joined the family business, bringing a breath of innovation with the definitive transition to completely organic farming.

The pure Marsannay grapes of the Gevrey Chambertin by Jean Fournier come from vineyards over 50 years old that grow on soils predominantly composed of clay and limestone, favoring a strong character of the final product. The climate is continental, characterized by summers with high and sultry temperatures and cold winters with sporadic frosts and snowfall. The work in vine is accomplished with the help of horses which allows for meticulous control of every vine and trunk of the plant and greater aeration of the soil, making it more responsive to the reception of nutrients. The harvest is manual and in the cellar, alcoholic fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts; it ages for 12 months in oak barrels.

The Gevrey Chambertin by Jean Fournier presents itself in the glass with a deep ruby red color with brilliant reflections. On the nose, it releases aromas of black currant, blackberry, and raspberry with light smoky hints on the finish; on the palate, it is delicate and refined with a delicate roundness and good persistence that makes the drinking experience interesting. It is recommended to pair with grilled red meat dishes, game, and first courses dressed with rich sauces; curious with blue cheeses. A prestigious product to keep in your personal cellar to celebrate anniversaries or special occasions with family, enjoying the genuine flavors of the French land of which this wine is a proud ambassador.
