The Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Estournelles St Jacques" is a red wine from Pinot Noir from Burgundy with a full-bodied and refined profile. Aged for 15 months in oak barrels, it is characterized by a fine and rich olfactory tone, peasant-distinguished by notes of wild berries, rose accents, nuances of licorice, leather and wood toasting. The sip is substantial, structured and elegant, with great personality and long persistence

The Gevrey Chambertin Premier Cru “Les Estournelles Saint Jacques” by Closerie des Alisiers exemplarily embodies the greatness of Burgundy, particularly that of one of the most vocated parcels of this magical piece of land. Talking about Burgundy, for any self-respecting enthusiast, is equivalent to naming an enchanted and fairy-tale territory, capable of reaching expressive peaks and almost unreachable lyricism. Among a multitude of producers, given the micro parcel division that characterizes the region, Stephane Brocard has undoubtedly distinguished himself, son of Jean Marc, who after engaging with a territory such as Chablis, acquired several parcels in the Cote De Nuits, some of which are particularly vocated. In the vineyard, the approach consists of enhancing the natural heritage, therefore the use of chemical or synthetic substances is excluded, in order to exalt the uniqueness of each microclimate. The resulting liquids are typical and even educational, and a perfect example to compare for those approaching the varied world of Burgundy. For the already enthusiasts, on the other hand, the flagship labels represent clear and precise expressions, capable of satisfying without lacking depth.

The Premier Cru Gevrey Chambertin “Les Estournelles Saint Jacques” is produced from pure Pinot Noir grapes, sourced from one of the most renowned plots in the commune of Gevrey Chambertin and the entire Burgundy region. In the vineyard, as mentioned, no chemical or synthetic substances are used, while in the winery, the process is equally rigorous with alcoholic fermentations occurring in wooden containers, and aging for 15 months in partly new oak barrels.

“Les Estournelles Saint Jacques” Premier Cru Gevrey Chambertin presents itself in the glass with a bright and inviting ruby robe. On the nose, it already proves to be a thoroughbred, displaying a variety of aromas, ranging from wild berries to dog rose, from sweet spices to licorice, with a light, deliciously integrated toasted note. On tasting, the liquid is no less impressive, combining power and finesse with precision, characterized by a velvety and sensual texture. Multifaceted.
