Gewurztraminer 'Lyra' Nals Margreid 2023

The Gewurztraminer “Lyra” from the Alto Adige winery Nals Margreid is an intense white wine with an aromatic profile, produced from an ancient variety from Northern Europe, a descendant of a genetic mutation of the Tramin grape. The vine has adapted very well to the cool and sunny climate of Alto Adige, producing wines with exuberant fragrances and very rich, soft, and persistent aromas. The vinification in steel enhances the varietal character of Gewurztraminer, highlighting its floral, fruity, and delicately spicy notes.

The white Gewurztraminer “Lyra” is one of the flagship wines of Nals Margreid, the historic winery in Nalles that manages grapes from about 160 hectares, belonging to 138 contributing members. The vineyards are located in 14 different areas of the region, allowing for the cultivation of each grape variety in the most suitable territory based on microclimate and soil composition. The estate extends from the Merano and Bolzano area to the Bassa Atesina, at an altitude ranging from 200 to 900 meters above sea level. The Gewurztraminer is grown in the Soll area, in the territory of Bassa Atesina at about 490 meters above sea level, on soils rich in gravel and clay. The fermentation takes place in steel and the wine rests in steel for 9 months before bottling.
