Gin 'Orbium' Hendrick's
Gin "Orbium" is an extraordinary and innovative reinterpretation of Gin Hendrick's by Master distillers Lesley Grace with the addition of other special botanicals, such as quinine, absinthe and blue lotus flowers. The name orbium derives from the Latin round and represents the shape of the taste sought by Lesley, in fact to the classic bouquet are added floral notes that give softness and a more balanced and harmonious taste, indeed round!
The Gin “Orbium” Hendrick’s, produced by The Girvan Distillery, is a special label. It represents an interesting variation of the classic Gin Hendrick’s, created by Master Distiller Lesley Gracie. The idea comes from the desire to create an innovative distillate with a more delicate, smooth, and refined taste, which differs from the rest of the range. To the base recipe of the Gin, a special selection of botanicals is added, few ingredients that are sufficient to change the face of the Gin and characterize it with innovative and elegant floral notes, enticing aromas that give the sip an extraordinary taste harmony. Excellent to drink neat, it can be used to prepare cocktails: Orbium Martini, Orbium Martinez, and Orbium & Soda.
The Orbium Hendrick’s is a Scottish Gin, born in the Lowlands region thanks to the experience of the famous Girvan Distillery, still equipped with traditional stills, which ensure the production of particularly fine and delicate distillates. The traditional version of Gin, obtained with a base of cucumber and rose petals, is revisited trying not to distort the classic face of Hendrick’s. The selection of botanicals is enriched by the addition of quinine, wormwood, and blue lotus flower. These three new ingredients give subtle, elegant, and floral aromas, making the Gin enticing and balanced. The name itself comes from the Latin term Orbis, which means sphere and wants to evoke the concept of seductive harmony typical of this sought-after Gin.
The Gin “Orbium” Hendrick’s is the result of the Girvan Distillery's desire to propose a new and original label, which however remains faithful to the characteristics that have made Gin Hendrick’s famous worldwide. The starting base is the classic version of Gin, to which precious extracts of quinine, wormwood, and blue lotus flower are added. These few ingredients are enough to substantially modify the taste of the distillate. In the glass, it presents itself crystalline and transparent. The olfactory picture expresses delicate floral scents, fresh vegetal hints, subtle memories of aromatic herbs, and soft spicy nuances. The entry on the palate is soft and gentle, with a sip of great expressive harmony, which anticipates a persistent finish, pleasantly fresh and balsamic.
