The renowned Tuscan winery Frescobaldi presents the ‘Nipozzano and Pomino’ Tasting, a magnificent wooden gift box that features two different interpretations by Marchesi Frescobaldi. The ancient winemaking history of the Frescobaldi family, which spans over 700 years of wine tradition, has led this winery to enhance numerous areas of Tuscany, a land to which the family has always been intimately connected. From Chianti Classico to the Montepulciano area, from Montalcino to the Val di Pesa, from Maremma to the island of Gorgona, the estates of Frescobaldi interpret the infinite facets of Tuscan winemaking.

‘Nipozzano and Pomino’ Tasting Box Frescobaldi is a wooden box that includes two distinct expressions from Marchesi Frescobaldi: a bottle of Chianti Rufina Riserva ‘Nipozzano’ and a bottle of Pomino Bianco. The former originates from the Castle of Nipozzano, a historic estate of Frescobaldi built in the distant year 1000 and located a few kilometers from Florence, in the heart of the Chianti Rufina area. It is a blend of Sangiovese and other complementary varieties whose grapes are destemmed and then crushed in stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation first takes place, followed by malolactic fermentation. Once the fermentation processes are completed, the mass is aged in barriques for several months. An articulated and balsamic Chianti, with irresistible spiciness and fine tannins. Meanwhile, the Pomino Bianco comes from a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc, varieties grown at 700 meters above sea level at the foot of the Florentine mountains. The processing of the grapes and musts is careful and precise, aimed at limiting contact with oxygen. Most of the mass is vinified in stainless steel tanks, with the remaining part fermenting and maturing in French oak barriques. The result is a balanced white wine, mineral and citrusy, not lacking in softness and complexity.

The ‘Nipozzano and Pomino’ Wooden Tasting Box therefore offers the opportunity to taste a seductive white wine and a typical Chianti that testify to the long and established winemaking experience of Marchesi Frescobaldi.
