“Masiero” Riserva is a red wine produced in the Breganze area from pure Merlot grapes. The Bordeaux grape variety has been cultivated for centuries in the Vicenza area, where it has found the climatic conditions and soils suitable for its needs. It is a soft and harmonious red that well expresses the natural fruity elegance of Merlot, made even more evident thanks to aging in wood. The varietal scents and aromas are enriched with tertiary notes, which complete the wine's bouquet, making the sip particularly fascinating and persistent.
The red wine “Masiero” Riserva is born in a historically very suitable area of Veneto for vine cultivation. Le Vie Angarano cultivates 8 hectares of vineyard within a large estate of 50 hectares, located in the countryside of Bassano del Grappa. It is a female-run winery, managed by 5 sisters, who decided to embark on this adventure together in 2003. In choosing the grape varieties, they favored the internationally known ones historically present in the region and the indigenous grape Vespaiola. The Pure Merlot, it comes from grapes that come from different plots cultivated with different clones on soils of various nature, of medium texture or rather loose, with the presence of alluvial pebbles. Each individual plot is vinified separately in order to have a history of each vineyard and the maximum choice when creating the final blend. This variety contributes to giving the wine a particular complexity and an interesting expressive facet.
The Merlot Riserva “Maserio”, a new line from the old "Angarano", is a red from Veneto with an intense and fruity profile, which is born in vineyards cultivated at about 200 meters above sea level, with a north-south orientation. At the end of the manual harvest, fermentation takes place at controlled temperature with a maceration on the skins of 15-18 days. The wine matures for 9 months in oak barrels and completes the aging with a few months in the bottle. It presents a rather intense ruby red color. On the nose, it recalls aromas of blackberry, blueberry, forest fruits, spices, tobacco, and hints of wood. The sip is broad and enveloping, with a pleasantly fruity mid-palate and a fresh and persistent finish. A beautiful expression of territorial Merlot, perfect to serve at the table with roasted red meats.
