Moscato d'Asti "Canelli" Moscata by Mongioia is an innovative interpretation of the traditional label. It spends 4 months in terracotta jars before the classic vinification in autoclave and gives rich notes of esotic fruits with a fresh balsamic final of aromatic herbs

“Moscata” from the winery Mongioia is a label of inviting and lively taste pleasure, a typical expression of the Moscato grape produced in the prestigious subzone of Canelli and vinified sweet according to the principles of the Charmat Method. An innovative interpretation that is in step with the times of the classic and traditional type, with a brief passage in amphora that allows for good oxygenation and a more nuanced evolution of the aromas. A great and interesting novelty not only for the Mongioia winery but for the entire denomination.

The Moscato d'Asti Canelli in Amphora by Mongioia is the most transparent and authentic exaltation of pure vinified white Moscato. The grapes come from vines about 60 years old that take root in the typical silty and clayey soils of the area. After the soft pressing of whole bunches that allows for the extraction of only the richest and most aromatic component of the berry, the must then, before alcoholic fermentation in steel autoclaves, rests for 4 months in amphora. The use of amphorae designed and crafted specifically for this new type arises from the idea of offering the best conditions for micro-oxygenation to the content and creating a label as faithful as possible to the terroir and less to convention.

“Moscata” by Mongioia is a Moscato d’Asti Canelli characterized by an immediate and clear drinkability that effectively accompanies every type of dessert, panna cotta, and bunèt to stay in line with the production area of the label, but also savory dishes like buffalo mozzarella. The aromas it exudes refer to the exotic, particularly lychee and passion fruit, and then finish with a balsamic and fresh finish of aromatic herbs like mint and verbena. The light and lively bubble supports it on the palate, giving freshness and great drinkability.
