The Nebbiolo Langhe from the Batasiolo winery is a fine and classic red wine, aged partly in barrel and partly in steel. On the nose, it offers notes of berries, violet, rose, and slight spicy hints, while on the palate it is rich, full-bodied, pleasantly tannic, and has a finish of good persistence. It pairs well with meat dishes typical of Piedmontese cuisine, such as the unmistakable ravioli del plin!

The Langhe Nebbiolo from the Piedmontese winery Batasiolo is configured as a fragrant and balanced interpretation of the most important Langhe grape variety. Founded in 1978, Batasiolo has always been led by the Dogliani family, which today manages an incredible vineyard heritage of 156 hectares from which it produces a wide and diversified range, based on the oenological excellences of Lower Piemonte. Among these, a place of honor is reserved for Nebbiolo, a variety that the family has cultivated since the 1970s when they acquired their 7 “estates” scattered in some of the most prestigious areas for the cultivation of this grape.

Batasiolo Langhe Nebbiolo originates from pure Nebbiolo grapes hand-picked generally in the first half of October. In the winery, the bunches undergo destemming and then fermentation in stainless steel tanks, where alcoholic fermentation takes place at controlled temperature accompanied by about 10 days of maceration on the skins, during which periodic pump-overs are performed. The subsequent maturation phase lasts for several months and takes place first in Slavonian oak barrels and then still in stainless steel tanks, with the wine being finally marketed after an additional adequate resting in the bottle.

To the eye, the Nebbiolo delle Langhe from the Batasiolo winery expresses an intense ruby red color with slight garnet hues. Notes of ripe red fruits and floral hints of rose and violet describe the fragrant olfactory range along with slight spicy hints. On the palate, the full and enveloping body is well supported by the lively freshness and integrated tannin, components that define a balanced progression characterized by pronounced fruity sensations consistent with the nose.
