The Nizza from Tenuta Il Nespolo comes from the single oldest Barbera parcel of the winery. The optimal exposure and clay soils ensure impeccable phenolic maturity of the grapes. The distinctive character of the wine lies in the long aging in wood for about a year, a process that gives stability and complexity without masking the vibrant identity of the fruit. On the nose, it releases a bouquet of cherry in jam with balsamic hints, enriched by elegant nuances of vanilla and slight toasted notes of cocoa. On the palate, it proves rich and of great structure, where the pronounced freshness vigorously supports the important alcohol content in a harmonious and balanced finish. It pairs perfectly with a traditional braised veal shank in red wine.
