From our sommeliers

The Ribelà Rosso is an expressive and Mediterranean wine made from Cesanese grapes, typical of Lazio and the Colli Albani, with a touch of Sangiovese grapes added. It has a territorial and fruity aromatic profile, interspersed with notes of bramble, blackberries, and other forest fruits. On the palate, it is soft and velvety, with good freshness, minerality, and fine tannins.

The Ribelà Rosso is a juicy and carefree wine that entertains on the everyday table. Frascati, the heart of the Castelli Romani, is a terroir with immense potential that has often been undervalued until today. Cantina Ribelà is the project of Daniele and Chiara, born with the intent to enhance local viticulture, adopting an approach that allows space for grape, nature, and vintage. The decision to turn to Danilo Marcucci, a respected winemaker who already follows several artisanal realities in the wine world, reinforces the idea of producing quality liquids that are interpreters of the territory, focusing entirely on indigenous grape varieties.

The Rosso di Ribelà is produced from Cesanese grapes with a small percentage of Sangiovese grapes. The impact of the volcanic soil strongly transfers to the wine, which is a powerful expression of minerality. In the vineyard, numerous biodynamic principles are followed to establish a synergistic relationship between the vitality of the vineyard and that of the surrounding environment. Harvest is strictly manual, followed by selection of the best grapes and destemming.

best grapes and destemming of the bunches. Fermentation occurs spontaneously, and after a very brief maceration on the skins, it ages in fiberglass containers. No clarification or filtration.

The Rosso Ribelà fills the glass with a medium intensity ruby hue. The nose is immediately lively and extremely jovial, combining wineiness with notes of fresh fruit, such as sour cherry, as well as distinct spicy hints typical of Cesanese, reminiscent of mace and cloves. A sip that is tasty and lean at the same time, uniting fullness of fruit with a refreshing freshness, but it is especially the distinct sapidity that extends the persistence of the tasting. Returns of Mediterranean scrub, for a fun wine, to try to "drink" a territory.
