Rosso 'Navel' Vino del Poggio
ArtisanalThe "Navel" by Vino del Poggio is a savory, gastronomic, medium-bodied red wine, produced from red grapes and vinified in barrique. Its scents are smooth and fruity, with hints of black pepper, its taste is velvety, savory, fresh and well-balanced. Wines made with Old Style Artisanal Methods
The Navel is a splendid red capable of combining depth with a compulsive drinkability. The Piacenza hills are home to a large group of winemakers, who, following the footsteps of local pioneer Giulio Armani, decided to work with healthy grapes to produce liquids that adhere to the territory. This enclave can only be attributed to Andrea Cervini, owner of a few hectares in Trevo, mostly dedicated to native grape varieties such as Barbera, Bonarda, Ortrugo, and Malvasia di Candia, with which he has managed to create expressions that have immediately entered the hearts of wine enthusiasts. Unmissable, also for the unique quality-price ratio.
The red Navel is obtained from a blend of red grape varieties, with grapes coming from a single vineyard called Navello. In the vineyard, the use of any chemical or synthetic substances is banned, and the bunches are hand-picked with careful selection. In the winery, the same respectful philosophy continues, therefore fermentation occurs spontaneously in steel with skin maceration of about 3 months. The winemaking continues in used barriques and tonneaux, without undergoing clarification or filtration before bottling.
The Navel wine has a dense and almost impenetrable ruby appearance. A true and rustic profile, offering notes of wet earth, leaves, crushed fruit, painting a strongly bucolic picture. Character and strength, also on the palate, where the wine enters boldly, being supported by an imposing structure and a tannin that marks the rhythm of the sip. Never heavy or "seated", it is enlivened by a burst of freshness that continuously revitalizes the drink. One bottle may not be enough!
