“Epices Créoles” Rum Agricole is produced by one of the historic distilleries of the Antilles. Jean Marie Martin founded the J.M brand in 1845 in Macouba, in the heart of the lush forest of Martinique. The sugar cane is cultivated on the estate, which thanks to the ideal climate and volcanic soils, allows for a very high level of quality. The cane juice is extracted and processed within an hour of cutting, in order to preserve the fragrance and aromatic integrity. The distillation takes place using traditional column stills, which guarantee exceptional finesse and freshness. The distillery places great importance on the choice of barrels to be used for aging the rums, with careful selection of wood essences and types of toasting to achieve the right final result. For this label, a maturation period of at least three years in French oak barrels and toasted American oak has been chosen, in order to give the rum the characteristic spicy and smoky notes.
