Rare winesThe Premier Cru "Le Sentier du Clou" is an important expression of Chardonnay in Saint Aubin, the famous appellation of the Cote de Beaune of Burgundy. With a straw-yellow color tending to golden, it reveals a rich fruity symphony of citrus, peach and green apple, with hints of dried fruit and white flowers. The nose offers a fine and delicate texture, with a pleasant body and enveloping, vitalized by a long and persistent mineral freshness.
The Saint-Aubin Premier Cru Sur le Sentier du Clou by the Burgundy winemaker Joseph Colin is a white wine of sublime quality and charm. The colorful climat of the Cote de Beaune manages to shape multiple interpretations of Chardonnay, all capable of captivating the senses with their class and elegance. “Climat” is a French term that indicates a single vineyard plot with distinctive and peculiar pedoclimatic characteristics that are reflected in the uniqueness and recognizability of the wines produced. One of these is the “Sur le Sentier du Clou”, which literally means “on the path of the nail”, a clear reference to the narrow and elongated shape of this noble Premier Cru.
Joseph Colin Sur le Sentier du Clou Saint-Aubin Premier Cru is made solely from Chardonnay, grown on white soils characterized by a high percentage of limestone, which contributes to the aromatic finesse of the wine. All vineyard operations are carried out according to the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture. The harvest is done by handwith a careful selection of the bunches, while in the cellar the alcoholic fermentation is completely spontaneous and the subsequent malolactic fermentation is encouraged. The aging of 12 months takes place in barrique.
Sur le Sentier du Clou Premier Cru Saint-Aubin AOC by Joseph Colin is a bright straw yellow color with golden reflections. The nose is broad with fresh notes of green apple, aromatic herbs, and citrus that combine with mineral memories and sweeter notes of ripe pear and white flowers. On the palate, freshness and minerality perfectly support the caressing taste sensation, in a refined and classy progression. An exceptional Chardonnay already ready to drink, but capable of evolving and harmonizing further with a few years of rest in the cellar.
