The Sassicaia is the Italian wine most renowned in the world, the quintessence of balance in terms of body and complexity. He thus decided to plant Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc grapes in the Tenuta San Guido, due to the similarity he noticed between these lands and the Bordeaux area: stony and rocky soils, just like a "Sassicaia".
