Sauvignon "Meriggio" of the Tuscan winery Fontodi is a tasty and fresh white wine, perfect to accompany white meats and vegetable-based first courses. This label is made from carefully selected grapes of the same name and is aged in steel vats for 6 months. The straw yellow colour with golden reflections shines in the glass and introduces aromas of crisp fruit and white flowers. The taste is agile, fresh, soft, mineral, tasty and with excellent persistence

The famous Tuscan winery Fontodi presents the Sauvignon ‘Meriggio’, a white wine dynamic and mineral with a valuable charm. With its territorial expressions capable of combining tradition and innovation, Fontodi has carved out a rightful place in the gotha of Tuscan excellence. Its 80 hectares of vineyards are managed following a sustainable production vision that, in addition to excluding any synthetic chemical products, optimizes internal resources by reducing the use of external inputs, as seen with the use of self-produced compost for fertilization. Among the prestigious labels offered by the winery, the ‘Meriggio’ is the only white wine, whose name indicates the sunniest hours around noon.

The Fontodi ‘Meriggio’ Sauvignon Blanc is made from the homonymous variety in purity coming from the La Rota vineyard, a parcel of the Conca d’Oro planted on clay-limestone soil and raised under certified organic regime. Following the harvest, the grapes are gently pressed and the must is placed in stainless steel tanks for alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature. In the same wine vessels, the aging of 6 months on the fine lees takes place before bottling.

To the eye, the Tuscan Sauvignon Blanc ‘Meriggio’ by Fontodi reveals a straw-yellow hue with golden reflections. The aromatic profile is fragrant and articulated, defined by hints of white flowers, citrus, and crunchy fruit supported by intense mineral puffs. The taste, soft and mineral, is made agile by the vibrant citrus freshness that leads to a long finale. A peculiar Tuscan interpretation of Sauvignon Blanc that is an ideal pairing with pasta and vegetable risottos, as well as various seafood preparations.
