The Sauvignon “Stein” Nals Margreid is one of those wines capable of “winning over” those who have the fortune to taste it. It is a label that belongs to the “selections” line of the winery, thus crafted with particular attention to bring to the final sip the emblem of what Sauvignon is. The varietal is indeed present decisively both on the nose and in the mouth, where flavors and tastes that, almost “didactically”, narrate this grape variety can be found. An impactful bottle that deserves space on the shelves of enthusiasts of northern Italian whites.
The “Stein” is a pure Sauvignon that the Nals Margreid winery produces starting from grapes cultivated in different plots within Alto Adige. We find ourselves in soils characterized by a percentage of porphyry mixed with gravel and limestone. The harvest is carried out strictly by hand, and the collected bunches are immediately transferred to the facilities designated for winemaking, where the destemming process takes place. The selected berries are then gently pressed, gently, and the must begins fermentation in stainless steel containers, where the aging phase also takes place, on the lees for a total of 5 months.
The “Stein” Sauvignon made by the Nals Margreid winery “lights up” in the glass with a bright straw yellow color, characterized by some slight greenish streaks at the rim. Refreshing are the first moments that mark the approach of the glass to the nose, followed by predominantly fruity and floral hints, decidedly varietal. On the palate, it is light-bodied, with a lively and crisp sip, that envelops the palate with precision thanks to a fresh and slightly vegetal sip. A bottle that, among its many positive qualities, also has the ability to be useful in the kitchen, accompanying the aperitif hour and meals with style and gustatory harmony.
