Spumante Brut Blanc de Noir 'Rio Cami' Casa Caterina
ArtisanalThe Spumante Brut Blanc de Noir Rio Cami by Casa Caterina is an elegant and very fine sparkling wine coming from Lombardia. It ages for 10 years on the lees, releasing a deep and brilliant personality, with a sip of large volume and structure an intense and multifaceted aromatic bouquet, with notes of white peach, dried fruit, brioche, rosemary.
The Spumante Brut Blanc de Noir “Rio Cami” from Casa Caterina is one of the latest creations by Aurelio Del Bono, a classic method that conquers with depth and character. We confess, we have a soft spot for the bottled liquids from the flamboyant giant of Monticelli Brusati, which manage to amaze us every year with their creativity and three-dimensionality, as well as their ability to virtuously challenge time, continuously changing. Talking with Aurelio is, after all, a formative experience, having the opportunity to engage with a deep connoisseur of the Franciacorta wine scene, as well as with a sensitive winemaker driven by a constant desire to experiment, an instinct that leads him to bottle unique and unrepeatable liquids.
The “Rio Cami” Brut Blanc de Noir is a classic method obtained from pure French red grapes, so much so that the only benchmark that comes to mind is the most famous French region, that of Champagne. In the vineyard, there is a maniacal attention to the selection of the best berries, which are harvested only when fully ripe, and the use of chemical or synthetic products is excluded so as not to compromise the natural harmony. In the cellar, the process continues with spontaneous fermentation of the base wines and bottle fermentation typical of the classic method, with long aging on the lees.
The Brut Blanc de Noir “Rio Cami” presents itself in the glass with an intense golden hue and fine, persistent perlage. The nose has unimaginable complexity, dancing between hints of dried fruit, acacia honey, nougat, and sultana grapes, although the descriptors are countless and the liquid is in continuous evolution. A sumptuous and complex tasting, where the liquid takes possession of the palate and lingers with remarkable persistence. Experiential bottle.
