Trasimeno Gamay 'Plèstina' Pucciarella 2024
Unusual grapesThe Trasimeno 'Plèstina' by Pucciarella is a red wine that enhances the Trasimeno Gamay, one of the most representative grape varieties of this territory. Despite the name, this grape variety has no relation to the French Gamay, but corresponds to Grenache, a variety introduced in the area probably between the 16th and 17th centuries due to intense trade exchanges with Spain. Fermentation takes place in steel at controlled temperature and, once finished, the wine is immediately bottled to preserve its fragrant aromatic profile. On the nose, hints of strawberry, raspberry and a delicate nuance of carnation emerge. The sip is fresh, soft and balanced with delicate tannins and a pleasant smoothness. It pairs well with the Umbrian torta al testo filled with sausage and chicory
