Valpolicella Classico Superiore Marion 2020
The Valpolicella Marion's Superiore Classico is a red wine produced in the Valpolicella region, the land of great reds in the Verona area. It is a blend of local grapes, Corvina and Rondinella, partly dried to give a sweet and unique flavor profile. The nose has hints of ripe red fruit, herbs and hints of tobacco. In the mouth it is elegant and balanced, incredibly enveloping and with great persistence. Perfect with intense meat-based first courses such as typical duck bigoli
The Valpolicella Classico Superiore from the Venetian winery Marion is the label that best tells the story and identity of this great wine territory. On the hills of Valpolicella, wine has been produced since the times of the ancient Romans, and over the centuries the tradition has never been interrupted. The presence of valuable native red grape varieties has allowed the area to remain sheltered from trends related to international grape varieties and to maintain a strong territorial rooting. The label is a reflection of these customs and allows one to appreciate transparently the varietal characteristics of Corvina and Rondinella, cultivated on prized limestone soils.
The red Valpolicella Classico Superiore is the result of the artisanal work of the Marion winery, which manages an estate in the hilly area north of the city of Verona. The meticulous care in the vineyard and simple, non-invasive production processes allow for the creation of wines with a classic face, highlighting the quality of the grapes and the typical character of the terroir. The vineyards of Corvina and Rondinella are located in a hilly area, characterized by the presence of very suitable soils, composed of limestone, clay, and stones. Once the harvest is completed, the bunches are taken to the winery where fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with skin maceration. A portion of the grapes is vinified separately after a short drying, which gives greater softness and aromatic richness to the cuvée. Before bottling, the wine matures for 30 months in oak barrels of different sizes.
The Valpolicella Classico Superiore Marion wine is a beautiful version of the most typical and representative red of the region. The classic everyday bottle to bring to the table, thanks to its ability to pair very well with numerous dishes, from pasta to roasted meats to noble poultry.
It presents itself in the glass with a beautiful bright ruby red color. The olfactory profile is fine and fragrant, with aromas reminiscent of marasca, red currant, raspberry, floral nuances, accompanied by hints of herbs
