Whisky Single Malt 'Sanaig Islay' Kilchoman
Whisky "Sanaig" is a Scotch Single Malt with pleasant and typical peaty notes that takes its name from the west coast of Islay, a fascinating area of Scotland made up of rugged coves and battered by strong Atlantic storms. This surly beauty is also found in the Whiskey, which, thanks to the refinement in Sherry and Bourbon barrels, acquires notes of sweet spices, dried fruit, candied citrus fruits and hints of smoking, enclosed in a soft, decisive and refined body.
The Single Malt Whisky "Sanaig Islay" from Kilchoman Distillery is a very interesting label for its ability to combine complexity, richness, and elegance. The name of the Single Malt comes from the homonymous inlet of the island of Islay. It is a bottle that, while retaining the classic peaty and saline character of Islay Whiskies, offers a broad bouquet, with fascinating fruity softness and oriental spicy sensations. A great Whisky to enjoy neat to appreciate all its aromatic facets.
The Single Malt "Sanaig Islay" Whisky is produced in the only Farm Distillery on Islay. Kilchoman controls the entire production process, from barley cultivation to bottling, ensuring every processing phase. A craftsmanship that translates into absolute quality, also thanks to distillation processes in traditional pot stills made in small batches. At the end of the distillation process, the Whisky matures in American oak barrels, previously used for aging Bourbon from the American distillery Buffalo Trace and in barrels used for the fortified wines of Jerez de la Frontera from Bodega Miguel Martin. The fine woods of the Oloroso barrels impart important notes of spices and dried fruit to the Whisky, which very recognizably characterize the profile of the Single Malt, blending well with the smoky nuances of the peat.
