On the steepest but most fascinating slopes of the D.O.C.G. area, right in the heart of the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene hills, a UNESCO heritage site from 2019, lies the Duca di Dolle estate, a young but already consolidated reality on the market for the surprising quality and variety of Prosecco it offers as well as the typicality it expresses. The estate is in the hamlet of Rolle in the municipality of Cison di Valmarino and is built inside a renovated 16th-century hermitage, which used to process grapes back in the days, and has now become a charming relais in which to enjoy an exclusive experience. Surrounding the structure are 25 hectares of vines surrounded by 75 hectares of meadows, fruit trees and woodland, which provide a natural protective frame for the vineyards. The objective of Duca di Dolle, in the hands of the Baccini family since 2011, is to enhance the territory and protect the landscape under the banner of eco-sustainability between man and the environment, and to focus on innovation, a value that has always distinguished the family, a reality of Treviso entrepreneurship known for the high technology and quality of its solutions and initiatives.
The grapes cultivated are those typical of the area: Glera, Verdiso and Perera. Glera is the spearhead of production, used to produce the most popular Italian sparkling wine: Prosecco di Conegliano Valdobbiadene. The vines vary in age and are up to 70 years old in the cru Riva, offering a few fine concentrated fruits. Another interesting wine in the range is Prosecco Cartizze Zero, from pure Glera grapes. Usually offered in the Dry version, but Duca di Dolle wanted to challenge itself by lowering the added sugar to a minimum. Lastly, we find a few hectares planted with Pinot Nero, a noble grape variety that has found a home a few years ago in one of the estate's most beautiful Rive and that is vinified in purity to create a Spumante Rosè 100% Pinot Nero of great drinkability and expressiveness.
Duca di Dolle wants its wines to be the mirror of the land where they are born and therefore expressive and typical, and to do this it works the land in the most natural way possible, respecting Mother Nature's processes. The result is fresh, authentic sparkling wines with a distinct minerality, capable of conveying those emotions of joy and vivacity that only true Prosecco can give.
