Conterno Fantino, one of the most enduring and respected winery in the Langhe, was born in the early 80s, when Lorenzo Conterno entrusts his estate (then called Colli Monfortesi) to his son Diego, to his nephew Claudio and to his son-in-law Guido Fantino. These three men are young but animated by a great passion and have a significant experience: Diego has a his own business, Claudio is a campaign manager and Guido is a winemaker and cellar master who trained at the school of Beppe Colla.

The first bottles left the winery in 1982, characterized by a setting expression that consists of a rich and fruity mold, with wooded aromas. Today the vineyards cultivation follows the organic philosophy and soon became famous for their ability to give depth and character to the wines: Ginestra, Mosconi, Castelletto, Bussia. The criteria of organic farming provide the nourishment of the autumn vines, low doses of copper and sulfur, pruning, harvesting that takes place once reached phenolic maturity.

The winery was recently renovated and is based on the use of renewable sources and techniques aimed at saving energy. Every production step has an extraordinary attention: the winery looks always for the optimal and ecologically sustainable solution.

The production, which also boasts an excellent Chardonnay, has a lot of powerful and expressive Barolo, able to evolve during the time, having being matured in new barrels of French oak after a maceration of about 10 days. These wines are powerful and charismatic but with their exquisite refinement, always balanced and impeccable. Respect for the wine tradition of the territory, the ecological choice, the aging in wood and long aging are the rules necessary to achieve the highest quality. For many years in the hit parade of the great wines of Piedmont, the bottles signed by Conterno Fantino products are a must for enthusiasts and discerning drinkers.
