This fun label is made from pure Cinsault grapes vinified using only indigenous yeasts and aged for 9 months in cement vats. The red wine ‘Alice Rouge’ from Domaine des Maravilhas is a refined pure Cinsault from the southern Rhône characterized by fragrant aromas, a delicate tannic structure, and a light taste, typically varietal traits. Domaine des Maravilhas is an artisanal production reality located in the Lirac area, on the western bank of the Rhône River. Founded in 1967 by a young vigneron of Algerian origins, who planted ex novo the traditional varieties of the territory, this Domaine has immediately adopted a highly sustainable agriculture, culminating in the achievement of biodynamic certification in 2004. In 2014, the winery was purchased by Jean-Frédéric and Morgane Bistagne, who continued that eco-sustainable production philosophy practiced for over half a century.
Domaine des Maravilhas ‘Alice Rouge’ is a 100% Cinsault from vineyards planted on calcareous-clay soil and managed under certified biodynamic regime. In the winery, the alcoholic fermentation is conducted by the only naturally occurring yeasts present on the grapes and in the winery environment and is accompanied by 12 days of contact between the must and the skins, with gentle pump-overs. Once the fermentation process is completed, the mass is transferred to cement tanks where it matures for 9 months.
The Cinsault ‘Alice Rouge’ Domaine des Maravilhas has a vibrant ruby red hue. On the nose, it reveals fragrant and intense aromas of violet and red fruits, while on the palate it is fresh, agile, and juicy, with a slender tannin. An elegant and harmonious Cinsault that, thanks to its dynamism, can enhance a wide range of dishes, such as simple platters of assorted cheeses and cured meats, various risottos, and preparations of white or red meats.
