The Alta Langa Rosé Brut Reserve "Contessa Rosa" from the Fontanafredda winery is a fresh and elegant sparkling wine perfect for pairing with raw fish dishes and vegetables. It is made with a carefully selected blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and aged on the lees for 48 months. The pale rosé color brightens the glass and accompanies a fine and persistent perlage. The nose is flooded with floral and citrus aromas while the palate enjoys a fine yet long sip.

The Alta Langa Rosé Brut Riserva ‘Contessa Rosa’ from the historic Piedmontese producer Fontanafredda is a Classic Method sparkling wine that stands out for its fragrant fruity and floral aromatic profile. This bottle is dedicated to Countess Rosa Vercellana, known in Piedmont as “la Bela Rosin”, lover and later morganatic wife of King Vittorio Emanuele II of Savoy. He granted her the noble titles of Countess of Mirafiori and Fontanafredda, a territory included in the municipality of Serralunga d’Alba where the namesake winery, which was the King's hunting lodge, is located.

Fontanafredda Alta Langa Brut Rosé Riserva ‘Contessa Rosa’ consists of a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, varieties cultivated in the Langa Albese and Astigiana on soils made up of white clay, sand, and limestone marls. The altitudes range from 400 to 650 meters above sea level while the exposure is south and southwest. The harvest takes place in early September, with the Pinot Noir grapes being refrigerated and subjected to 12-13 hours of skin maceration. The subsequent fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and in the same containers, the wine rests for a few months on the fine lees before bottling and the prise de mousse according to the Classic Method. The aging on the lees in glass lasts for 60 months, after which the dégorgement and topping up with the dosage syrup, containing a few drops of Barolo 1967, takes place.

‘Contessa Rosa’ Alta Langa Rosé Brut Riserva from Fontanafredda has a bright pink color with fine and persistent effervescence. Fine and intricate hints of pomegranate and orange blossoms define the olfactory landscape, combined with aromas of lavender and rose. Elegant and lively sip, with a fresh progression that ends on mineral and citrus sensations.
