BOLGHERI ROSSO 'LE SERRE NUOVE' TENUTA DELL'ORNELLAIA 2021 DESCRIPTION

The Bolgheri Rosso "Le Serre Nuove" by Tenuta dell'Ornellaia is a dense Mediterranean red obtained mainly from the estate's younger vineyards. It is a perfect red wine that fits into the path of this great and historic reality in the Italian wine scene. The estate's work is guided by skilful management between the rows planted in diverse soils, caressed by a pleasant sea breeze, which creates a unique maritime climate and a distinctive environment.

The Bolgheri Rosso "Le Serre Nuove" is a classic Bolgheri-Bordeaux blend produced from Merlot grapes predominantly, along with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, in perfect French style. The goal is to showcase the austerity and elegant expressiveness of great wines of this kind. The grapes undergo a double selection before being pressed. Each grape variety is vinified separately in stainless steel tanks, undergoing a maceration period of 10-15 days. Malolactic fermentation is completed in first and second-passage barriques, where the wine ages for 15 months, refining its personality and intrinsic characteristics. A further 6 months of bottle ageing allow the wine to achieve perfect taste balance.

The Bolgheri Rosso "Le Serre Nuove" by Tenuta dell’Ornellaia has a medium-intense ruby color. It is rich and multifaceted on the nose, revealing notes of ripe fruit in spirits, sweet spices, and balsamic tones on a well-perceived alcoholic structure. Aromatic herbs are present in the background, accompanied by subtle woody hints. The palate is very enveloping, full-bodied, fresh, with a pleasant and balsamic finish. A glass that pays attention to details with great expression and determination.
